We got this question from Only Small Things on our Facebook page:
“Silly question I’m sure, but…should I be *doing* anything other than just allowing my son to complete his session? Should we be reviewing new words learned or discussing the day’s session…or should I just allow him to complete it each day and smile because he’s doing well?”
In short, yes, the Reading Kingdom online reading program is that easy!
Your question is not at all “silly” and it goes directly to one of the major advantages of the Reading Kingdom. The program is set up so that previously learned material is steadily interwoven with new material. In other words, the review is built in throughout the program.
In addition, at the end of each Reading-Writing level, there is a Progress Check to see if a child has mastered the material from that level. If a child does well on the Progress Check, the program automatically advances to the next level.
On the other hand, if a child’s performance indicates that the mastery is not solid, a Review segment is started to reinforce the material that needs attention. All this means that you can sit back and allow your child to complete the session each day and definitely allow yourself to “smile because he’s doing well.”
We hope that answers your questions and concerns. Please let us know if we can do anything to help!
