Recommended Reading for Kids: Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak is one of the Reading Kingdom’s recommended reading for kids. Reading expert and Reading Kingdom creator, Dr. Marion Blank explains why:

Where the Wild Things Are is one of our recommended reading for kids. Where the Wild Things Are tells the story of a young boy whose mischief gets him sent to his room without supper. There, his imagination transforms his bedroom into an extraordinary setting, with a forest and an ocean and a boat that takes him to a land full of “wild things.” The pictures are wonderful and powerful and together with the text, present a story which they readers of all ages can identify. This is a book that children want to hear again and again.

This is my first English book I got for my 6th birthday from my family from England. Now I am 44 and still got the book on the shelf. I am very proud to have it…

I read this book so many times as a teacher and as a mom, I could quote it in full while on car trips!
