Recommended Reading for Kids: The Very Hungry Caterpiller

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, is one of the Reading Kingdom’s recommended reading for kids. Reading expert and Reading Kingdom creator, Dr. Marion Blank explains why:

In this entrancing and beautifully illustrated book, a caterpillar hatches and then each day eats through a successive number of pieces of fruit (teaching counting up to five and the days of the week). Then, after going into a cocoon, the little creature hatches into a beautiful butterfly.

In honor of its 40th anniversary,  the book is now available in a pop-up edition. As a result, all the holes that the caterpillar makes are actually punched into the pages of the book. This book, regardless of the version chosen offers an experience that children from three year old and up will cherish.
