"There are so many great things about the Reading Kingdom...it's really easy to use, it builds on su ...
ccess, and your child really enjoys doing it."

Cindy Crawford, who used Reading Kingdom with her children
"This program has transformed the teaching of reading... The program is absolutely outstanding -- no ...
t simply in teaching reading, but also in enabling children to master and expand their knowledge of English. It does so by steadily integrating spoken and written language. No other program with which I’m familiar is comparable in teaching these vital skills. I believe that central to the program's success is: (i) its steady integration of spoken and written language, and (ii) its unique incorporation of "immediate interactive feedback." Research has shown that this type of feedback is critically important to engaging the student and thereby to enhancing effective learning. It regularly provides an immediate response to what the student does, and it offers clear, simple direction to overcome any errors that occur.”

Dr. Bradley Peterson, Director, Institute for the Developing Mind, Keck School of Medicine, USC
"All three of my children report that they 'love Reading Kingdom because it is a lot of fun.' In fac ...
t, with adorable animal characters and engaging activities, they often don't even realize that Reading Kingdom is a learning program. They consider it to be a fun game that they are 'playing'. And since it is a customized program it is adaptable to their particular needs. As a mom and an educator, I feel a great sense of pride observing my children actively engaged in this program as I watch their confidence soar when they "master" a skill€¦In my opinion, what makes Reading Kingdom an exceptional program for use with my children is that it expands on the traditional phonics method to teach words that cannot be sounded out phonemically (the majority of words in the English language). In fact, my six year old son has wisely questioned me in the past asking, "Why can't I sound out so many of the words in my book€¦that doesn't make sense?" With Reading Kingdom€¦..learning to read finally "makes sense" to him."

"I recently retired after two terms as a School Board Director for the largest school district (11) ...
in Colorado Springs. I am also a retired USAF Colonel. I believe reading success is foundational to life and career success, yet far too many of our children are not succeeding with the traditional phonics-based reading programs. I co-founded a movement in Colorado Springs to help address the reading crisis. We have selected Reading Kingdom as our primary tool to help young students become successful readers. I highly recommend the program."

Bob Null, Former School Board Director, District 11, Colorado Springs
"I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to review the Reading Kingdom. This is a fantastic tool ...
that has helped my daughter get back on track. It is easy to use, fun and holds her attention. It's helping her with reading, spelling, sequencing, motor skills, grammar, comprehension, phonics and computer skills! Chesney has been using this program for only a few weeks and has already shown drastic improvements. In fact, she was being pulled from her class daily for "reading enrichment," where a reading specialist was helping her one-on-one. Since she's been using the Reading Kingdom, they said she no longer needs the extra help!"

Shelley Van Witzenburg, Parent
"I have a 1st grade class that is majority English learners, low income, and significantly behind gr ...
ade level. Students in my classroom often only have learning experiences and support in my classroom. I was looking for a program that would benefit my students' significant achievement gaps and get them to grade level. We used Reading Kingdom during our reading intervention block for 20-30 minutes, 5 days a week. The program was easy to implement and the pre-assessment given at the beginning was a great support to determine what level my students should begin at. At the end of the school year my classroom achieved 80% of students reading at grade level. This is coming from 20% of students that were reading at grade level at the beginning of the school year. Reading Kingdom helped eliminate a majority of the gaps my students had. I would highly recommend Reading Kingdom especially to those teachers who come from high poverty and low performing schools. You will be amazed at how implementing this program into your classroom routine can achieve great results. Thank you Reading Kingdom!"

Lyle Patty, 1st Grade, Mayfair Elementary, Fresno, CA
"My son adores the sessions through Reading Kingdom. Every night since his sign up he asks "When do ...
my sessions start?" Here my unruly 7 year old who usually I fight tooth and nail to get to do his regular homework WANTS to hop online and start the newest session of Reading Kingdom. By the second night, he was comfortable with the program and the keyboard and actually argued with me that he wanted to go to start the next one instead of calling it a night. He doesn't even realize he is learning, he thinks it's an interactive game. Of course, I'm not going to tell him any different. The program speaks for itself when I say, sign your child up. They will WANT to do it."

"Dear Reading Kingdom, I wanted to pass along a note I received from one of our clients: 'I am writi ...
ng to share some amazing stats regarding Moss and his time on Reading Kingdom over the course of the summer. We recently attended his Parent-Teacher Conference with the school's reading specialist in attendance as well. On the Dibels Test at the end of last year Moss scored 29 with a goal of 58 on his NWF (Nonsense Word Fluency - Correct Letter Sounds) and 0 where the goal was 13 on his NWF (Nonsense Word Fluency - Whole Words Read). Now, keep in mind this is for 1st grade level reading at the end of last year - which was the end of his first grade year. The exciting piece: being tested on Dibels again at the second grade level after a summer of Reading Kingdom work he tests in those same two categories at a second grade level 63 with a goal of 54 on his NWF (CLS) and 20 with a goal of 13 on his NWF (WWR)! The reading specialist was blown away by "whatever we'd done . This is exciting stuff and I wanted to thank you. So, thank you! -- Larry' And thank you, again, from me too! Your program is changing children's lives."

"My son has tried other online reading programs and quickly gets bored with them. This program rewar ...
ds you with a fun animation and sound whenever you answer a question. My son thinks these are hilarious and it keeps him motivated to continue. In fact, sometimes he asks to do a second lesson. (and believe me, that's unheard of!). In the 30 days since we have been doing this program my son's reading skills have sky rocketed! He is really loving this program and is even excited to read to me now."

"Last year I taught at Hodgin Elementary, an at-risk, low income (100% free lunch) school with many ...
non-native English speakers. There were five kindergarten classes. At the end of the year the other teachers each had two or three students reading above grade level, while I had 10 reading above grade level (as determined by the DRA test). While I would like to take all the credit, much of it goes to Reading Kingdom. I always liked to hear my students say "Oh I learned this on Reading Kingdom!" I reported my great Reading scores to the principal and strongly encouraged her to use Reading Kingdom in all kindergarten and first grade classes next year. "

"I teach 5th grade in a school of English language learners, immigrant/refugee students. None has be ...
en in the U.S. for more than 2 years, and many have never even been in school before. 2 years ago I used Reading Kingdom and got outstanding results, with their teachers the following year commenting on their evident vocabulary and literacy skills. Last year when my school ran out of funds and couldn't afford to pay for Reading Kingdom I went with the phonics-based program the school had already purchased, and the results were very poor. So this year I decided I had to pay for Reading Kingdom out of my own pocket to make sure my students received all the benefits your program provides. I look forward to seeing my current students achieve and become the readers they want to be. Thank you Reading Kingdom for making such a great program available!"

Antoinette Benson, Parent
"My daughter loves it, and has become super-charged excited about reading, often choosing to do 4 or ...

"Honestly I cannot say enough good things about this reading program. All five of my younger childre ...

Then come and tell when so and so is doing it longer than just one lesson...The best thing about this program in my opinion is that it actually customizes the program to your child making it neither too hard nor too easy. I've not seen another program that does that."

Angel Morris, Parent
"My son Connor loved Reading Kingdom from the start. The combination of computer time, cute animated ...
animals, fun sounds, and tons of encouragement and praise made for reading instruction that seemed more like playtime than work, and for an active, seven-year-old boy who would much rather play than read, that's a good thing...In Connor's own words, 'Mommy, I can READ!'"

Jennifer McQuillan, Parent
"WOW! I have had the pleasure of reviewing a fabulous educational program called the Reading Kingdom ...
€¦Lessons are short enough to complete while their interest is still there and they always have the option to move on and do more OR to be done for the session. My kids, ages 4 and 6, often beg to do more! They really love it and consider it more of a fun game than an actual lesson. I am BEYOND thrilled with the program!"

Jennifer Jurek Land, Parent
"My son William loves Reading Kingdom. And I've seen that it has made a big difference for him, just ...
in these few weeks we've used it. He does it willingly, which is HUGE. He generally wants to do more than a single "session" at a time... My son Thomas loves Reading Kingdom. Once he got into the Reading part, he soared. I cannot begin to describe it. He is voluntarily reading a LOT of stuff. Reading captions on the television, volunteering to read his little sister's birthday cards aloud to her, reading signs, reading ahead in read-alouds. It is stunning."

"I like the program a LOT! This is one of those resources that my children request every day, and th ...
at reveals a lot right there. One of the greatest selling points of this program is that it is customized to your childs level. What an advantage over what you might experience in a large classroom. In that setting, it's doubtful that you'll find that individual attention to a child's ability. I will be continuing to use this within our homeschool, and I hope that after reading this, you'll be inspired to try it out too. Happy reading :)"

Laurie Gauger, Parent
"Prior to starting Reading Kingdom, my son Hunter would have rather chewed off his own arm, than wri ...

Now he is passing me notes in church, and is asking to write letters to family members...When I asked Hunter what things he liked about Reading Kingdom, he said, "I like how it just helps drive the words into your head. "We LOVE this program. I have officially packed up my phonics curriculum for both children. I have n ...
oticed improvement in reading with my 7 year old and much less frustration from both of us since we don't have to dredge through phonics. She can read real books and spell the words and get feedback right away...I plan on using Reading Kingdom with my other children as they reach the appropriate age to use it."

Katie Corbett, Parent
"My son practically begs to play his "spelling game" as he calls it. Cute isn't it. He doesn't even ...
see it as a reading program....This is a great program. It takes your child step by step through the process of learning first how to key in the correct response, and then by teaching one word at a time with repetition. The skills learned are then reviewed to ensure retention. Once your child has mastered the mouse and can find the proper letters on the keyboard look out because they will just take off. You will get a reader report that keeps track of your child's ability and your child has a cute little owl friend with great visuals to help decipher any unknown words."

Amanda Bowen, Parent
"I just asked my daughter what she thinks about Reading Kingdom. She said, "I love it!" And she does ...
. I don't have to ask her to use the program. She asks me -- often multiple times in a day. There are plenty of phonics programs available and lots of ways to practice phonics skills, but I've not found another on-line tool that teaches reading like Reading Kingdom. I also like that the child can work independently. I need help finding enough time to give each of my children individual attention. Having Reading Kingdom has given me time to work with one child while another is actually learning on the computer instead of just being entertained. Finally, I like that it has gotten my daughter so excited about reading!"

Kristen Hamilton, Parent
"Since using Reading Kingdom with my daughter she has improved her reading level in such a dramatic ...
way that just today we read a very hard book together about Wetlands and another about Rain Forests, in which she read the fun facts part out loud to me instead of me reading the entire book. This is HUGE for my daughter!"

Amanda Werner, Parent
1"My daughter has been able to work through this completely on her own. Each lesson takes 10-20 minu ...
tes to complete. She has asked for very little assistance. I can view her progress online but I also receive emails letting me know how she is doing and when she has advanced. She has absolutely loved using this program and we will continue to use it. As I stated previously, she is in second grade, and while she can read she is not fluent and gets very frustrated with sounding out words because she has figured out that there are lots of rules and they don't apply consistently. She used to sit and try to read and get very distracted. After using this program, her confidence in her ability to figure out the words has improved tremendously. We can now sit down together and she can read simple books without distraction. The best part is she ENJOYS doing it now. I never have to ask her to do her work on Reading Kingdom....she does it on her own and it's not unusual to find her working on it more than once per day."

Stacy Hester, Parent

"This program was very self explanatory right from the start. There is nothing more frustrating than ...
getting a program (online or via software) and have to spend hours figuring out how to use it. This is not the case with Reading Kingdom. All I had to do was a few simple steps and the kids were off and reading!!...I am using this with Hannah age 13 and Andrew age 11. Hannah has Auditory Processing disorder and needs extra work with her reading. This program has been a gift from God...I'm not over playing it at all. The program is so well done. The compliments she gets for completing each level have been amazing. She loves to "play" her game. We have seen such an increase in Hannah's reading level since starting Reading Kingdom. But most importantly her confidence in herself has gone way up!... Andrew is age 11 and just does not like to read. He just doesn't like to sit period. This program is amazing at holding his attention. He loves how fun they made reading! He is continuing to advance in reading levels. He will now sit and read books. Thank you Reading Kingdom for giving our children the confidence they need to improve their reading!!"

Jen Brandes, Parent
I'm not certain that Reading Kingdom is "perfect," but I think it's pretty close. Programs that are ...
very phonics based don't work for us - Jude can't hear the sounds properly. Whole word requires memorizing - sure, there are some "sight words" that make life easier (it makes more sense to just memorize some of the words on the Dolch word list than try to sound out "the" or "how" or even "Santa" than try to sound them out every time you come across them), but even I look at that list and am overwhelmed at the thought of trying to memorize all of them. Throw in that English is a language with its roots in every other language, and you're not really learning "English" rules but "rules from every other language around the world." Looking at learning to read from a teacher's perspective, I can see why he's feeling overwhelmed! Reading Kingdom uses both phonics and sight word concepts, but in a very unique way.

"Reading came easily for the girls they were both reading simple books by the time they were 4. They ...
were in first grade before I ever tried an actual phonics program. Because I thought they have to learn the phonics rules or they will never be able to spell or write. The girls quickly became frustrated with the rules that the programs wanted them to memorize. I remember being frustrated with this when I was a child. Reading Kingdom does not ask them to memorize the phonics rules. They are so happy about not having to memorize rules any more. Instead they learn sequencing, sounds, meaning, grammar and comprehension. Every lesson builds on itself and before you know it their reading and writing is getting better and better. They learn to read real stories that flow and make sense. By the way the girls actually enjoy the stories. I love that it doesn't use books where all the words rhyme. In real life not everything you read is going to have the same ending sound. Reading Kingdom's books are based on sentence structure instead of word sounds. Each lesson is around 15 minutes or so. We usually complete the lesson in one sitting and they are usually asking if it's OK to do another lesson. Yup, it's that fun for the girls!  They actually ask to do more than the required one lesson a day. They just love the program. We were around week 5 of the program using it 4 days a week when I realized Hotrod Girl's spelling is improving.  I was in complete shock today when she passed a spelling test. Out of 16 words she only missed one. Something in this program is working where all the phonics rules didn't. She is also starting to enjoy writing. This week she asked to write a letter to an old friend of her great grandma's. I read the letter before she sent it so we could make corrections if needed. I was so excited to see that her sentence structure is getting better. Her sentences flow like they should. Her spelling was so much better she only needed to correct a few words. This program asks them to write a lot. I think that all the writing is really helping to improve her spelling. Snoopy girl's ability to figure out words and their meaning has improved. Since she reads at a higher level than most 6 year olds she sometimes comes across a word that she just has no idea what it means. With Reading Kingdom she is learning skills to figure out the meaning of those words. She says she feels like "My Owl is teaching me and helping me when I get stuck."

Julie Brown, Parent
"I love Reading Kingdom because the first thing the student does is take an online evaluation. Readi ...
ng Kingdom can be used for Preschool through third-grade reading levels, so children with better reading skills may have to sit longer through the evaluation. Bennett was still at the Pre-K level, so it didn't take long for the program to determine what he did and didn't know. After just a few weeks, Bennett is going around randomly reading words on signs and book covers. And he likes it. There have been several days on which he has asked to do another lesson after he's finished for the day.

Amanda Chambers, Parent
"We used this program primarily with my 7 year old daughter. I think it is honestly revolutionary in ...
the way that it teaches and I will be doing it with my younger son as well now that we are settled into our new home after our big move this month. This program is multi-faceted learning at its best. It would work well for an auditory learner, visual learner (LOTS of fun graphics and bright colors) and even my kinesthetic learner. It starts from the basics that may sometimes be missed and helps promote independent learning at the same time (who doesn't love that?). I was blown away by the results I saw and the value of this program, in my mind, is more than worth the price tag.

Rebecca Spooner, Parent
"I just can't say enough good things about this program! Boobear loves it. I mean, he loves it. Abou ...
t 20 minutes or so after Papa Bear heads for work, he's waking me up. "Mama, can I go do my reading lesson? Yes. He literally does his reading lesson first thing in the morning. Before breakfast even. He adores this program! He likes the game aspect of it. A happy dinosaur shows up to encourage him or tell him he's done with his session for the day. There are cute little characters that pop up, and even if he's wrong, he doesn't feel like he's done some kind of awful mistake. He just tries again. There is no frustration over being wrong, no struggling to remember a certain sound before he can do anything else. This works. It just plain works. It's a wonderful program that he adores, that is something he looks forward to, and that is teaching him. I am utterly amazed at just how effective this program is.

Crystal Cook, Parent
"I like that this program integrates more than just a pure phonics-based approach. With a struggling ...
reader, this was a breath of fresh air for her!  Our strict phonics/rules-based approach just hasn't been working with her "special" style, and reading has become a painful subject.  Not the case with Reading Kingdom - She is happy and EAGER to do this program!  I noticed a big improvement in her reading skills in the short time we have been using it. My "regular" reader loved the program too. An added bonus, both of their keyboarding skills are getting developed at the same time their reading skills are being worked on. I highly recommend this program. It's a great way to supplement or take a new approach in reading instruction. It was just what we needed.

Renita Bentz, Parent
"I am really excited about this program. I will admit I was a bit confused at first. With my heavy p ...
honics teaching background I did not understanding why the program was teaching first words like: girl, boys, some, and kids because many of them are not what phonics programs teach. I'm familiar with teaching the short vowel sounds first so my kids can sound out words like cat, bat, nan, etc. The program is absolutely amazing to me now that I understand the Reading Kingdom's goals of teaching content & non content words and how the program uses the 6 skills method tapping into the child's hidden abilities. I would highly encourage you to purchase the book Reading Remedy. This gives a detailed understanding of the program explaining the theory and basis behind the Reading Kingdom program. You know what I found interesting on the back cover of the book Reading Remedy? A quote from Paul Orfalea, "A new model for teaching reading-one that opens up all kinds of possibilities for children. Paul Orfalea is dyslexic so if he's saying that this program can open up all kinds of possibilities for children and this coming from the founder of Kinko's (I worked at his company and met him too!) who is dyslexic, that says a lot to me.

"Bella is in first grade and has grown up listening to Sophie [her older sister] bemoan reading€¦ ...
so of course she has decided that she doesn't want to read either. (Insert huge sigh here.) I decided to have Bella do the skills survey and have her try Reading Kingdom Online €“ and she LOVES it!  The child who used to fuss when I would ask her to work on her reading skills now can't wait to use the program. Now Bella has progressed to where Reading Kingdom Online shows her the word that she will be spelling, it says the word out loud, then the word *disappears* and she has to spell it herself.  I'm amazed with the progress that she has been making!   I don't even think she realizes that she is learning to read!

She also loves using the program.  Some of the activities are like games.  Others are harder work, but they are all more fun and less burdensome than completing worksheets, phonics drills and spelling tests.  It's the first reading program that she hasn't complained about and it's the first that has not caused tears.  Having a tear-free little girl is priceless to me, and is proof to me that this program meshes very well with Rose's learning style. I can also see great growth and self-confidence in Rose's spelling and reading after just a few weeks on this program.  Although she's only on the fifth reader of the first level, and she's only actually been introduced to 25 different words so far on the program, she's taking more chances and trying to sound out more words in her other schoolwork.  She's also already trying to spell more outside of the program, and her invented spelling guesses are not that bad.  I'm happy to see how much this program has added to her self-confidence. At first glance, the program seemed to move very slowly to me, but then I realized that once she knows words on the program, she really knows them.  She can read them, write them, spell them and tell me what they mean.  Even if she's only learning one new word a day, over time those words are really adding up and building a very confident reader.

"I'm surprised at how quickly my son Jack is done with the program each day.  I like that I don't h ...
ave to fight to get him to work on it.  It's painless and fun.  And, I have to say, his reading has improved.  We're reading a book about Squanto aloud together, and I've noticed a real difference in how frequently he needs help with a word now, versus several weeks ago. And how do the skills carry over into real life?  Well, since beginning Reading Kingdom, Jack has progressed enough that he's started reading for pleasure!  I had some new Level 3 readers stashed away for him, and he's asking for, and reading, a new book almost every day now.  There's been a noticeable reduction in the number of times he comes to me for help with a word, too.

Reading Kingdom is completely self-explanatory and I did not have to search any obscure FAQs page to get us started or on our learning journey. The Princess says, "I love Reading Kingdom! fun way. My daughter likes the animation, and she really enjoys the fact that she can do her lessons all by herself. It's very user-friendly, even for a 5-year-old! As a mom with 3 older children to take care of, the independence Reading Kingdom offers is a definite plus. I also like how I can already see results. She has developed reading fluency and even learned how to spell new words. Plus, she's learning important computer skills and developing computer literacy. In her daily reading, the speed at which she is able to read and comprehend has definitely improved and her confidence boosted.

"Online reading programs are a big deal in our home, because reading isn't something that has come e ...
asy for my girls. We have used many programs in the past and I couldn't be more pleased with this one. My daughter, Gracie, has always struggled with reading and writing and she has not only advanced through the program fairly fast, but she has also retained the information she has been learning. That is a huge blessing for her and me as well. We have used programs before that they have done well within the program, but haven't retained the information. This hasn't been the case with Reading Kingdom. She enjoys logging in and completing her lessons and sometimes even asks if she can continue on. Of course, I say yes! A daughter asking to do her reading and writing assignments is incredible. I'm so thankful that we have finally found a program that she enjoys and learns so well with. As you can probably already tell, we loved Reading Kingdom and highly recommend it.

The confidence that Garrett has achieved in word recognition has really become apparent as he progresses through the program as well as in his classwork when he has to read aloud with our other curriculum.  Garrett has really enjoyed working with the program and even asks to do extra work with it during his free time.

"My youngest son began at the very beginning; level one and reader one.  I love how he loves this p ...
rogram!  There is such a simplicity to it all; each lesson done in such a way that the child cannot help but succeed in the end. For example, when learning the word "girl you see the letters and hear the word. You are then asked to spell it and then identify it from a number of other words.  My son loves the little spaceships and helicopters that show him a bunch of letters; the goal is to find he group of letters that makes the word being learned.  Through these kinds of exercises they are learning not just letters but also word formation. Its great problem solving too; some of these get rather tricky. These methods are great! I believe myself this is such a big piece of the foundation our children need to become successful readers. And readers who love to read! This program is a great addition to any reading curriculum for younger students or those who are struggling in their reading skills.  Both of my children really enjoy working with this program! And I love that my boys are both becoming more confident and eager when it comes to reading and writing.  This one is a winner for sure!

"The awesome thing about Reading Kingdom Online is that it is customized to your child! At the begin ...
ning of the program, the child will take a Skills Survey and the parent is NOT supposed to help the child at all. This is so the program can correctly evaluate what the child knows and doesn't know. This will then help it to customize what the child needs to work on and where to begin with the lessons. This is great so the child isn't sitting through lessons that they already know. After the Skills Survey, as the child moves along with the lessons, Reading Kingdom Online continues to customize to their reading needs according to the child's previous interactions. Every child will have their own unique experience with Reading Kingdom! My daughter loves the fact that each lesson is bite-sized. She despises reading so to have her actually sit to do anything that has to do with it is tricky. After her first lesson, she realized that they are not long at all and it made her much more willing to sit down each day to use the program. We usually work on Reading Kingdom Online about 5 days a week. You can use it as a stand-alone curriculum or as a supplement. As of now, it is our ONLY reading curriculum for her because it works as well as keeps her engaged. We are very happy with her progress in reading by using Reading Kingdom.

pond with his diagnosis of Apraxia and Sensory Processing issues, but with a little tweak to the response time, he LOVES the program. My daughter needed someone other than me helping her with reading at this point. While I had to set up the computer and log into the program for her, she was able to take ownership of the program. It's been a great introduction to independent learning. She has thrived with the Reading Kingdom online program. They both have.It is suggested that you use the program four times a week for the most success. Don't worry about trying to remember that though. Not only does the program remind you, so will your children. Reading Kingdom has been our favorite reading program. It is teaching them skills to learn how to read at their own pace. You can use it on the computer or tablet which makes it convenient to continue learning while away from home.

"Phonics relies on teaching sounds and sounding out as the only method to learn to read, while Readi ...
ng Kingdom teaches all 6 skills used in reading- sequencing, writing, sounds, meaning, grammar, and comprehension. While our usual phonics program spends weeks or even months reading small snippets of letters, then lists of words, Reading Kingdom had my daughter reading words and even short sentences in the first week of use. Let's face it, phonics is easily boring and often frustrating for little ones. Reading Kingdom with its adorable owl and graphics, interactive nature, and nearly instant gratification of reading €˜real' sentences and stories makes reading fun and engaging.

is not busy work, put there to entertain them. Every single activity and step is with a purpose and it is backed up with research. I appreciate that, especially because I am a mom that doesn't like her children idly sitting in front of technology with no specific academic purpose. Reading Kingdom Online is individualized and it is adjustable and editable, which means that I can adjust levels for each child and I can also adjust response time for my children, too. There are so many unique features to this program that by the time you are done, it will look like it was made specifically for your child. Amazing! Reading Kingdom is fun, colorful and effective.

t started that he has been going strong with two sessions a day. The goal is to complete the levels in increments of 20,000 points. So if he is close to the points required he begs me to do the next session in the hopes that he can get to the next point level. Boggles my brain that he loves this so much! Joseph has made it through the first part of the program and is now diligently working his way through the level in part 2. He is doing well, and he is absolutely loving the program. He has come to me a few times already and said, "Hey Mama, I can spell€¦ then proceeded to spell the word. That is pretty impressive! Because of the knowledge that he is obtaining from this program and the fact that he is continually being encouraged, he is trying to read other materials. This mama heart is so proud of how much he is trying! Overall, I am giving Reading Kingdom an A+.

to inhale too much information at one setting. This is important for my guy. You will obviously need a good internet connection and speakers. What you won't need is a lot of time. There is practically NO parent prep. All I do is keep up with his progress. I know that he is learning and practicing. If you are a parent who has a struggling reader I suggest you take a look. Even if your child has progressed beyond the 3rd grade reading level I think you will find it to be invaluable practice and remediation. This is one of my Favorite reading resources!

y be struggling with reading, for any reason, because it focuses on so much more than JUST phonics. One great thing about this program is that it CAN be used on a tablet. My son used it on our iPad. The lessons are pretty short, they didn't take very long to complete (though I never actually timed them).  They do keep track of progress, which can be viewed on the site when you click on your child's name. What I also love about the program is it also works on keyboard skills and spelling while introducing reading!  It has nice graphics, entertaining, but nothing that detracts from the learning.  The fact it can be used on tablet or computer is great!  I also love that the lessons are short, so they are great for little ones with shorter attention spans.  They can choose to continue more than one lesson if they want, or be done with just one!

It is fun enough that he doesn't mind doing it, but serious enough that I can tell he's working.

I was right. We haven't had any issues with Reading Kingdom Online interfering with, or contradicting our own lessons. They work together just fine. My kids are loving Reading Kingdom. It is fun, and something they can do on their own. They ask me if they can do Reading Kingdom today. I like that a session is short. It isn't too long to keep their attention span. My son often does a couple sessions at a time, before quitting.

"Rebekah and Eli have been able to improve their reading skills by using Reading Kingdom. At first, ...
I wasn't sure that they were progressing very fast.  As I learned more about the theory behind Reading Kingdom, I realized they were learning two important aspects: sequencing and writing.  This has proved to be very beneficial to them. Now that they are in the Reading/Writing Level 1, they are learning many new words.  They not only learn to recognize and read the words, they also learn how to spell them.  The consistent practice is paying off as they are able to recognize the new words quickly. The kids have both really enjoyed Reading Kingdom.  They find the games to be pleasant and fun.  I like that I can see them learning and utilizing new skills associated with becoming more proficient readers.

"The site is very user friendly from both the student and parent sides. My son, Little Man, can easi ...
ly log in and continue his lessons without any help from me. Also, it is all website-based, so it can be accessed from any device that has the internet. When you sign in, it asks if you are using a physical keyboard or an on-screen keyboard, so it can adjust the lesson accordingly. The lessons are pretty short. I'd say ten to fifteen minutes, and are meant to be completed in one sitting. It is possible to pause or stop in the middle, but it's not necessary. My son has so much fun with it that he often completes two or three lessons in a sitting. The program customizes to your child so, not only do they have placement tests at the beginning of the sections, but it bases future lessons on what your child mastered or needs extra help on in past and current lessons. To my kid, this keeps it from being boring. As a child that already had a grasp on reading, Reading Kingdom has helped my son with his reading speed and comprehension. Before beginning, his spelling was terrible, but Reading Kingdom has helped that a lot. It introduces and reiterates words that are difficult to sound out, and just seeing them every day has improved his spelling. Most of all, he's had so much fun while doing this. I can honestly say he has never enjoyed a program as much as he does Reading Kingdom Online.

"Reading Kingdom is a research based online program that teaches children ages 4-10 how to read and ...
write, up to grade 3.  What sets Reading Kingdom apart from other reading programs is it teaches 6 skills and is disguised as a fun and easy to use game.  Other curricula teach one skill - phonics. The six skills Reading Kingdom teach are: sequencing, writing, sounds, meaning, grammar and comprehension. I think this is an excellent program for a child to learn with. We found the program easy to navigate with clearly spoken instructions.  Emma always looked forward to her sessions.

"The best way to use the program is to allow the children to be as independent as possible, except p ...
erhaps with helping them physically control the mouse/track pad. I would go about my work and just listen/watch to see how things were going. On the other hand, the kids had SO much fun doing the lessons that they often asked to do a second and I wasn't about to stop them. I was delighted to see them learning basic keyboarding skills along with the reading skills, as well as reinforcing the things they were already learning in their regular reading programs. This is a great reading program and we will continue to use it. It is more comprehensive than the one we were using with my 6 year old and is a great supplement to the one my 8 year old uses. I love that they can do the work almost entirely independently. As a busy mom, it's nice to be able to hand them the laptop or iPad. I enjoy the way the program adjusts to my child and I can change settings on my own. The kids LOVE the program!

Our school year is going strong, and my kids have been using Reading Kingdom and it is a fantastic l ...
earning program. Why does it work? Because this method is based on learning the meanings of words and the pattern sequencing of letters and sounds that create meaning. This is superior to other methods of learning to read. Most programs only use a phonics program. But phonics are a deceptive way to learn English because there are 100’s of combinations to remember. I would encourage every family to give this system a try with their kids and beat those national average statistics and come out a winner who has mastered reading proficiency.

Reading Kingdom is the perfect way to help my son with his reading skills and he thinks it is just a game! Ray Ray and Little Miss were super excited to get the chance to try this program and I was excited to see what all the hype was that I was seeing. Man, was I impressed with what I saw. Reading Kingdom is just what we needed in this house! It took the reading and writing skills of the children to a whole new level! I had to get used to not helping them all the time, but once I did, it was perfect. I realized that they were still learning, and they were learning at their pace. Not too fast, and not too slow! We love this reading program and plan to use it in the years to come. I love seeing the kids learning and being challenged in a good way on a daily basis.

I am very pleased with how Reading Kingdom presents itself to my daughters. The fun graphics and sounds along with the learning makes it even more enjoyable. They love learning with this program and ask me every morning if they can "play" on Reading Kingdom. Reading Kingdom Online is an excellent program to help children to learn to read. It is a more well-rounded program than just teaching your child phonics. Both of my daughters seem to be learning a lot and advancing in reading and keyboarding skills. I highly recommend Reading Kingdom!

"There are a lot of reading programs option out today.  We have tried many...many of them.  We rec ...
ently had the opportunity to try out Reading Kingdom Online Reading program.  Caty has been working with the program a few weeks now and I'm seeing a steady improvement in her reading and even some of her spelling skills. Many children fail to become proficient readers because they get overwhelmed by the amount of phonics rules.  And this described Caty so well.  She struggles so much. There are fewer than 1 in 5 words that can be sounded out.  Caty gets so overwhelmed and frustrated trying to figure out why the words were not matching the sounds.  I was getting frustrated repeating, "Well that would be right, but there is this rule also."  Reading Kingdom has taken the frustration out of forcing phonics based learning on her.  This is a big deal for us. We actually start out each day's schoolwork with Reading Kingdom.  The shorter lessons are great for her attention span, and most days she gets so excited about finishing another level....that she will actually do another lesson without complaint!!  That is saying a lot!!  I like that Reading Kingdom is bright and colorful, has fun animal characters and yet those characters do not distract from the whole point of the program.......learning.  The added bonus of the short lessons is definitely wonderful.  In fact, I am shocked how much learning is packed into just a few minutes. "When a child is initially signed up to Reading Kingdom Online, they will complete a skill survey.  ...
This allows the program to place the child at a particular level that is suitable for them.    The program then customizes for each child to ensure they get exactly the learning they need to allow them to progress in this new skill.  The child will then move at their own pace through the reading/writing levels (1-5). The daily lessons are quite short to keep the child interested.  They include cute graphics & lots of positive reinforcement to encourage the student to try their very best. The student is very quickly able to complete their Reading Kingdom Online lessons entirely independently. Since using Reading Kingdom, I have been pleasantly surprised at the progress in reading of my boy. He has had an overall jump in his ability.

"My son, Caleb, is a second grader, and a fairly good reader. However, he is definitely all boy, and ...
taking the time to sit down to read for fun has not been on his radar as of yet. Well, Caleb has been using Reading Kingdom for a month now, at least 4 days a week. He is loving it! The Skills Survey placed him, and on he went. There is a key word to each lesson, and I admit, this had me wondering what exactly we had gotten ourselves into. But as I watched him progress through the "games", I saw how much content he was absorbing, such as: letter recall, word recognition, phonemic awareness, capitalization punctuation, and so much more! We have a lot more to learn about this program, but what I've seen so far has been excellent.

"I'm very happy to tell you about how well Reading Kingdom has been working for us. We were able to ...
use the program on both the laptop computer and the iPad.   All you really need for this is a reliable internet connection. After making it to level 3 in the seeing sequence (learning to process from left to right), Magoo was hooked.  He loves getting points and earning animations in his reading passport.  He is now excited to work on Reading Kingdom every day, and one lesson is the perfect amount for his attention span. I really like that this is a completely hands off program for me.  In the time that we have been using it, I've noticed a huge increase in Magoo's desire to learn the alphabet and he now tries to read everything.  Reading Kingdom is a great fit for my little guy! The first two weeks were hard, but not that Magoo is comfortable with using the computer, he loves Reading Kingdom.

tion for your child. During the whole process, the program targets your child's weaknesses while also keeping them confident in their strengths. Reading Kingdom is easy to start, no need to download anything. Just log on to the website and start reading! McKenzie started with the assessment and while it was a long process because she is not that familiar with the keyboard arrangement, she was overly excited to continue through each step. She had no complaints and often wants to be learning. She has now progressed to Reading/Writing Level 1 and enjoys it quite a bit. She loves playing her "owl game and will ask to do that before doing her workbook work. Overall, I love the concept of Reading Kingdom and have seen great improvement in my girls' reading abilities!

"Reading Kingdom is not a new program for my family. In fact, 3 years ago, we used it with my now 12 ...
-year-old. He was a struggling reader barely sounding out words, and -- within 6 months -- he was reading proficiently at grade level. It's been such a useful tool in getting my learners at grade level in a frustration-free manner. The Reading Kingdom approach embraces the fact that your child may not be reading well using the "sound it out" method (which I do still support), and gives kids a variety of tools to help them learn to read through sight words and other related words. This way, your child goes through the program learning to sound things out, but also with dozens of new words each week that they know. And since only 1 in 5 words can be sounded out, this is big! Kids are given lots of opportunities to experience these words.  They are asked to find them in a group of random letters. They are asked to type them on the keyboard. They are read aloud and reinforced over and over. As children progress, you -- the parent -- can see how far they've come. It's quite encouraging to see your struggling reader actually learning things! My son enjoys his time at the computer, and the graphics and sound is of good quality. If you've been discouraged with the progress your child is making towards reading, you want to give your child an "edge" over other students, or you're simply looking for a comprehensive reading curriculum that students can complete on their own (Reading Kingdom doesn't require parental help beyond setting up the account -- and parental interference is discouraged), this may be the program you've been looking for. Update: My son just read through his first book! This is a huge accomplishment for us. He picked out a 2nd grade reading book, and he wasn't even able to make it through a sentence before this program. While I really believe that kids have to be "ready" to learn to read, and no program can force their development too much, Reading Kingdom will always be our first choice for confronting learning challenges head on. It has proven too effective to ignore.

"This online resource is a terrific program for students around ages 4-10 to learn to read. It cover ...
s the multiple areas necessary to become a great reader, including grammar, sequencing, comprehension, writing (typing), phonics (sounds), and even word meanings. As you can see, this is different from other online reading resources out there. It is colorful and engaging, but uses repetition and explicit instruction as well to make concepts more concrete for students. It approaches the same information in different ways and won't let your child get left behind.  I like that it helps teaching typing skills, as well as spelling from memory.  Don't worry if your child is having a hard time.  Reading Kingdom will pop up with ways to assist your child in an encouraging and positive way to help them succeed."

ery interested in seeing what this program had to offer. I have a nephew that I decided to test it out with. He is young, but he is smart, so I knew it would be something he would be able to do. I was certain I would get a good understanding of the program and the benefits it afforded. And I was very impressed with it. They also included great coaching verbiage for the parent, showing them how best to support their child when they need help. This was also repeated in the instructions for the assessments. Great job, Reading Kingdom developers! The graphics and eye appeal is wonderful. They are bright and colorful and super cute! It is definitely something younger children will be attracted to and engaged with. I also appreciate the email updates. Each time my child completed a lesson or activity I received an email letting me know. I know with my own older children, they log on and off at various times during the day to play in the various learning games I allow them to use (we have a strict no-technology policy during the week), and sometimes I don't even realize they have logged in or I don't know what they have logged in TO. It is nice seeing something automatically report access, prompting you to view any progress and reports. My overall impression of this program is that it is very well developed and is based on solid research. I love all of the information available on their website, as well as the information that can be downloaded in PDF that show parents and educators why the program works.

as an interactive place for the child to learn while also being entertained. It has been found that children learn more quickly and at a higher level when they use interactive tools in education. Reading Kingdom offers that service to your child so that they can truly grasp the information that's in front of them. Throughout the teaching process, the segments are based on what each child needs €“ whether it's reading comprehension, word identification, or even spelling in general. At the end of the program, you will see a difference in how your child responds to words and sentences. Reading Kingdom is unlike any other literacy software. With this software, everyone who has the desire to help a child grow is given access to a fantastic tool that allows them to do it most effectively.

ey do read are real sentences that make sense - not sentences that just rhyme€¦ Once she used this I asked my daughter what she thought about it. This is already making a difference in her life.

I even thought about holding her back in the fifth grade because she struggled so much until I found Reading Kingdom. I let her work on the program. She loved it. It was fun. Have you been looking for a way to speed up your child’s progress in reading? Reading Kingdom just ...
may be your answer. I had the chance to use Reading Kingdom for the last five weeks and have been honestly amazed at the progress my two youngest boys have made. It is an online reading program, which brings a whole new level of reading theory to the table. I can’t say enough good things about this program. It fills in the gaps that other reading programs do not. To find a program that can actually pull that rapid progress up by years, I guess I just want you to understand that this isn’t just a great program, it is a break-through level program.

"When Little Miss was getting ready to read, I noticed a few issues. However, with Reading Kingdom, ...
the worries I once had, have disappeared! Reading Kingdom is an online program that works on teaching your child how to read. This program is geared towards ages 4-10 and will help your child work on reading and writing up to a third-grade level (Lexile 750). While it is an online program, it is easy for kids to navigate. I don't have to do anything other than log into our account, and Little Miss takes over from there. She is taken to where she left off and is able to continue on with the click of a button. Little Miss loved using this program. She would beg me to use this first this upon waking up. She would work through the day's lesson and have so much fun spelling the words she learned each day. We had no issues with her logging in and getting through the lessons. Our other favorite part, if she had to stop the lesson halfway through for some reason, she would not have to start over. When she logged back in later in the day, it would take her right to where she left off! As Little Miss continued through the activities on Reading Kingdom, I noticed her spelling more words throughout the day, not just when she was on the computer. She would be able to draw a picture and actually write the word of what she drew! This is huge for me because I was very worried about her not spelling or sounding things out just a few short months ago! In just 15-20 minutes a day, I have seen Little Miss learn to read with Reading Kingdom!

"Our four-year-old son has always been interested in reading, so I jumped at the chance to review Re ...
ading Kingdom€”which is an online grades K-3 reading program using "Phonics-PLUS." Reading Kingdom contains a placement test as well as reading and writing lessons divided into five levels. Each level takes approximately 10-15 weeks to complete depending on the number of sessions completed each day. Our son enjoys his 'program' so much that he was disheartened when we took a day off for his sister's birthday party. We have been very happy with Reading Kingdom and will continue to use it in our home to help our son grow in his reading, writing, and spelling.

"With all the kids in our house and their many different learning styles, we have tried many online ...
reading programs.  I have to admit, that Reading Kingdom has turned out to be my new favorite.  Both my 7 and 8 year old daughters have been using the program for the past month or so and have made great strides doing so. Reading Kingdom is designed for children ages 4-10 years old and helps them get to a 3rd grade level in both their writing and reading. This program is designed to customize itself to each child, which makes it perfect for both the early reader and the struggling reader.  When you first sign up, the child will take a placement test to get them on the appropriate level.  From there on, it designs the lessons for each day.  The goal is for the child to do 4 sessions a week, at minimum, for best results. Reading Kingdom uses a 6 skill model of reading instruction.  The program focuses on sequencing, motor skills, sounds, meaning, grammar, and even comprehension. My 8 year old has been especially struggling as a reader.   Since starting the program, she has taken off with more confidence than ever and I have found her reading independently lately.  Both my 7 and 8 year olds enjoy doing the program.  Frequently I have to tell them to get off after their session ends so we can work on other things."

"This online reading program for kids in K-3 and was both easy to use and fun for my son. Most days ...
he was asking to either get started with this program or to complete another lesson. Rarely do I have to say, "no more school work but with this particular program it became a regular occurrence. Daily he would ask to work on the lessons. And even though to him it was fun and more like a game, he was working and learning, improving his reading and spelling skills. Weekly I would check his progress report, a detailed explanation of how he was doing in each lesson. These reports made it easy for me to see how he was progressing through the program. However, I could tell just by watching and listening to him as he worked through each days lesson and word that he was learning and applying new skills. Through a variety of activities, he was learning a new word with each lesson. Each lesson gave him the opportunity to see, read, and type the word as well as some variations of the word (such as plurals). This process of seeing, hearing, reading, and spelling out the word allowed him to learn them quickly and feel really good about his progress. At the end of each lesson, we would check for his progress. My son is quite competitive in nature and he sure loved seeing "excellent performance (represented by the gold trophy) on his daily check. Whether you are starting out with reading, or just wanting some assistance helping your early elementary student, Reading Kingdom is a fantastic resource. The program is written to children in a way they can understand and needs very little parental involvement or oversight. This program was easy to use, enjoyable for my son, and has really helped him increase both his reading and spelling skills. For us, Reading Kingdom is a program that we will continue using."

When I began my master's program about 15 years ago, I remember being exposed to the heated debate s ...
urrounding the most effective teaching method in reading. Some championed phonics, others were devoted to whole-language approaches. At the time, I really didn't understand why a combination of many methods wasn't a major part of the discussion. Now that miss Z is learning to read, I can confirm that both her and her brother learn very differently. J instinctively understood phonics and readily picked up on various rules. Miss Z has struggled a little more with phonics and needed more interaction than just reading on a page. Reading Kingdom is an online subscription K-3 Reading Program. Instead of just focusing on phonics or whole-language methods, Reading Kingdom incorporates 6 skills (Sequencing, Motor Skills, Sounds, Meaning, Grammar, & Comprehension) to provide a full reading and writing education. It also provides an extensive reporting feature that keeps you up to date with each student's progress. One of the things that sets Reading Kingdom apart is its focus on meaning and real world exposure to reading through immersion rather than grouping words together simply based on sound or category. In this way, the program works to incorporate elements of writing in with the reading sometimes far sooner than other methods. If traditional methods don't seem to be working for your student, I absolutely recommend giving Reading Kingdom a try. This research-based program at its core seems to be looking for your child's gaps in order to fill them in.

"We have really enjoyed this program and I must admit that when we started I was pretty skeptical.  ...
I was pretty sure this was probably not the program for us and that perhaps she might be struggling a little.  As we progress I am more impressed and look forward to seeing what our end results will be.  The fact that she enjoys and looks forward to her lessons is a big plus!

"Miss Grace is dyslexic, so her reading level is technically 'behind'. We've tried other programs ai ...
med at Dyslexic children, but she always gets bored and claims they are aimed at little kids, and then doesn't seem to get much from them. For Miss Grace who struggles AT the phonic level, but has an amazing capacity to remember by SIGHT, different words, Reading Kingdom is perfect for her! By helping her with sequencing and TYPING (aka the writing) of the word she doesn't know how to spell/read, she gets to use BOTH sides of her brain, thus planting a firm picture OF the word into her memory. For dyslexic kids this is SO important, as it is how they place things into LONG term memory! And with having her read small paragraphs and find the sounds that ARE alike, it helps not only her reading, but her reading comprehension! You see, THAT is one of the differences with Reading Kingdom, from other reading programs: children are taught words in meaningful sentences, of common usage that they understand. Then those sentences are combined with other such sentences, to make meaningful paragraphs, like they would find in any fiction or non-fiction book. By teaching the word, then the context, then applying it with other sentences. Kids LEARN form and function, and pronunciation as well! And I think this is where the program has made such a HUGE difference for Miss Grace! I have seen such a HUGE improvement with Miss Grace's reading since starting Reading Kingdom. She is SOUNDING out 3-4 syllable words, where before she would hesitate and try not to. She is more comfortable reading out loud to me, and she is reading grade level texts! For example, before she started, she would stop on any word she didn't know, and after the second word would get frustrated. Now she is trying to sound out the word, asks for correction, and keeps going! This is how she ended up reading that recent biographical book I reviewed, so well! It really makes a Mom's heart ZING, to know her kid is finally 'getting' it and starting to love reading again!

"At the beginning of using the program, the child takes a placement test.  This will help the progr ...
am choose the level the student is at.  Along with the level, it can determine if there are gaps in learning.  This will make sure that the student doesn't waste time re-learning skills they've already mastered, but fills in the pieces that may be missing in reading skills or comprehension. The program is intuitive, and takes your child's ability and creates the lessons he needs to master a skill.  If your child understands a concept the program will move them up to another skill.  Practice and more examples will be given to the child who is not understanding. I think this program can be a huge asset to anyone's homeschool. The intuitive factor of the program seems to be accurate. I used it with my 5-year-old boy.  He really likes the video game aspect of it, and when he knows what to do, he plays hard and feels good about it! He has really begun to recognize the letters, sounds and is really able to use the program!

cing, writing, sounds, meaning, grammar, and comprehension. The program adapts to the child playing. There's an awful lot that goes into learning to read! Beyond basic phonics, children need to develop a vocabulary, comprehend a plot, learn grammar, understand sequencing, and more. Many reading programs teach basic phonics or sight words and leave it at that. Reading Kingdom takes a whole child approach, teaching sequencing, writing, sounds, meaning, grammar, and comprehension. The program adapts to the child and feels like a game with a wide variety of activities and fun graphics.

m both, week after week. The program is intended to be used by each student for one to two sessions a day, four or more days per week. That seemed like a big commitment but they love it and often ask to do more. I really like how this program is working out so far for my girls.

"There are plenty of online reading and phonics programs out there, particularly for the younger set ...
, but as most moms know, whether they homeschool or not, is that they are NOT all created equal. There are times that I've looked into a program or app that people swear by, only to find out that it's too babyish, or not appropriate for a grade/age, or that it's completely ineffective as anything more than just a game. This program was created for kids ages 4-10, to get them to a Lexile of 750 (approximately third grade). Finally, this program does feel like real "school", not a game. I don't think this is a bad thing, but it is worth mentioning. Rather than blasting letters or feeding creatures, you are really learning reading skills in a deliberate way. I like this a lot, and ultimately the girls liked it too, but it's not as much of a carrot as some educational apps. The progress though, is outstanding, for both new and experienced readers, and that's an excellent thing.

"So we have been using this program with my 3rd grader and then also my struggling reader who is in ...
6/7th grade and they have really enjoyed this program and with them both at different places within the program. They like the colorful and engaging lessons. I think the big thing I have seen since we've been using this program is that my son has started to really enjoy reading both on his own and with me. It's been quite remarkable to see the reading "light bulb" come on.

"I cannot say enough good things about Reading Kingdom! Joy is 16, and is a severe dyslexic. She is ...
homeschooled and I spent thousands of dollars in curriculum, and in hours trying to teach her to read! I even went away with her for a week-long dyslexia intensive. All with zero success! She felt so defeated, as well as me, her instructor, and Mom. Please keep in mind, I successfully taught eight of our other children to read in our homeschool. So I was not lacking in experience or zeal!Reading Kingdom has literally changed Joy's life! She is super excited about reading, and experiencing success in reading in many areas of her life now! I would not change one thing about Reading Kingdom! Thank you!"
